Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Design and implement comprehensive full-stack solutions, encompassing React/Next.js for the frontend, TypeScript for the backend, and Postgres with pgvector for semantic data layers.
- Develop and maintain robust data layers that effectively connect claims, elements, facts, and evidence, ensuring structured reasoning for AI agents without hallucination or skipped steps.
- Build and optimize entity extraction workflows to accurately pull structured claims, actors, and timelines from various legal documents and files.
- Create and refine AI agent workflows designed to identify and surface gaps in legal arguments proactively, particularly before complaint filings.
- Construct and manage evaluation frameworks that facilitate the integration of attorney corrections back into the system, enhancing future retrieval accuracy across all cases.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience shipping production-grade software.
- Strong proficiency and hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, and Next.js.
- Comfortable working with SQL and Postgres databases; experience with vector search or graph-like queries is a significant plus.
- Must be based in New York City or willing to relocate for a hybrid work arrangement in NYC.
- Demonstrated ability to value autonomy over rigid processes, taking ownership of your work.
- A genuine curiosity and interest in learning about new domains, particularly legal technology.
- Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), or evaluation frameworks is a plus, but a strong interest and willingness to learn these technologies is required.
