RUX is a Squamish-based outdoor gear company on a mission to make space for the good life. Founded in 2019, we design modular, weatherproof gear systems, led by our flagship collapsible 70L Gear Box, that help people store, carry and move their gear so they can spend less time packing and more time outside.
We're building this brand in the open, and we want our community along for the ride. We're looking for a native social media person who lives and breathes Instagram, Tik Tok and YouTube, and who knows both the art and the science of making content for them.
You'll capture the building of RUX from the inside: in the shop, on the road, at events and in the mountains. You'll report to our Creative Director and own the

- Create and Share (~50%)Film, capture and edit short-form content for Instagram, Tik Tok and YouTube, mostly on an i Phone Use in-platform tools and apps like Instagram Edits and Adobe Rush to move from idea to published quickly Edit on the fly from the studio, on the road, at events and in the field Write captions and hooks that sound like RUXHelp develop and run a signature content series that gives our channels a recurring anchor Curate (~15%)Treat each feed and grid as a whole, with real care for how it looks and reads over time Decide what makes the cut.
- Not everything is good enough for the feed Balance that bar against cadence goals, and hit both Own the YouTube channel page: playlists, sections, featured content and Shorts, organized so a new visitor knows where to start Design thumbnails and write titles that earn the click, and test what works Package and publish the long-form videos our editor produces Build community (~25%)Respond to comments and DMs, start conversations, and flag customer issues to the team Use proven techniques to grow followers and prompt engagement Take part in community moments at events, on camera and off Measure (~10%)Track what's working on each platform and turn the numbers into what we try next Research industry trends and apply learnings to RUX channels In the field Travel to events, trade shows and customer visits, and work them: setup, conversations, filming Drive overland-style trucks and long-wheelbase Sprinter vans Travel comfortably in the mountains while filming Join in on mountain biking, overlanding and whatever else the community is getting after What you bring1 to 2 years running social channels for a brand, a creator or yourself, with work you can show Deep, current knowledge of what works on Instagram, Tik Tok and You Tube Working knowledge of YouTube as its own platform: thumbnails, titles, playlists and Shorts versus long-form Fast, confident shooting and editing on a phone A track record of building and engaging a community through social A sharp eye for detail and a strong sense of curation Clear writing with personality, and the ability to match a brand voice The organization to hit a demanding cadence without dropping quality A valid driver's licence, a clean record, and comfort driving large vehicles Ability to work from Squamish and travel regularly, including some evenings and weekends Bonus points for Video skills beyond the phone: filming on a dedicated camera, editing longer pieces, and producing your own shoots start to finish Experience with an outdoor, e-commerce or consumer brand Real involvement in overlanding, mountain biking, skiing or camping scene Familiarity with Meta Business Suite, Tik Tok and YouTube analytics, or a scheduling tool Basic HTML/CSS or Shopify theme editing Familiarity with Canva, Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics or a scheduling tool Compensation and
