Role Overview

Imagine building a challenger brand from the ground up, but with the significant backing and resources of one of the UK's largest businesses. We are partnering with a brand-new digital platform that has just launched into a vast, established market. This proposition is genuinely innovative, the product is live, and it comes with serious investment. The exciting part? The brand itself is still in its formative stages, and this is where you come in.

We are seeking a dynamic Brand Lead to shape the very essence of this brand – defining what it stands for, what makes it memorable, how it behaves, and how it captures attention. You'll enjoy the creative freedom of building something entirely new, empowered by the budget, extensive reach, creative resources, and media firepower of a major organization. This isn't about playing it safe; the ambition is to forge a bold, distinctive, and culturally relevant brand with a unique personality, campaigns that truly resonate, and a social presence people genuinely want to follow.

If you have a proven track record of helping challenger brands exceed expectations, building significant brand recognition in competitive landscapes, or elevating a brand from obscurity to widespread recognition, then this unique 12-month fixed-term contract offers an unparalleled opportunity to make a substantial impact.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Own and continuously evolve the brand positioning, core messaging, and external narrative.
  • Define what the business should be known for and ensure this story is consistently communicated across all channels.
  • Lead the strategic direction for organic social content, including formats, themes, and storytelling, moving beyond standard content calendars to build a distinctive and creative presence.
  • Collaborate with internal PR teams and external agencies to develop compelling stories and external narratives that generate buzz.
  • Drive the brand thinking behind all campaigns and product launches, from initial audience insight and messaging development to crafting comprehensive creative briefs.
  • Unite cross-functional teams, including Brand, Growth, Campaigns, Product Marketing, Design, and PR, around a single, recognizable brand story.
  • Lead and mentor a small, dedicated team, fostering their development and growth.
  • Work effectively with specialist agencies and various internal teams to achieve brand objectives.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in Brand Marketing, Integrated Marketing, or Communications.
  • Demonstrated experience in owning and driving brand strategy, rather than solely executing pre-defined plans.
  • Ability to seamlessly blend strategic brand thinking with strong creative judgment and execution skills.
  • A keen eye for quality, capable of assessing social concepts, campaigns, or creative assets and determining their effectiveness.
  • Experience within a challenger, disruptive, or high-growth consumer or B2B brand environment is highly desirable.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, working with strong personalities, and thriving in a fast-paced environment where ideas evolve rapidly.
  • A genuine passion for building, experimenting, and creating a brand that truly stands out and captures public attention.

Benefits, Perks & Culture

  • Competitive salary of £75,000 per annum for a 12-month fixed-term contract.
  • Enjoy a flexible hybrid work model, requiring 3 days onsite in our London office.
  • Unique opportunity to build a brand from the ground up with substantial investment and resources.
  • Access to the budget, extensive reach, creative resources, and media firepower of a leading UK business.
  • Freedom to experiment and create a bold, distinctive, and culturally relevant brand identity.
  • Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that values rapid iteration and innovation.
  • Collaborative culture fostering interaction with diverse teams across Brand, Growth, Campaigns, Product Marketing, Design, and PR.
  • Opportunity to lead and develop a small, impactful team.
